Hello world! I'm Olivia Baggett and I'd like to share a little about myself, who I am, and how I got to be where I am today.
I'm a 21 year pre-nursing student enrolled at the University of North Georgia. I enjoy what I am studying and where I am blessed to go to school at. University of North Georgia is one of the most beautiful college campuses I have ever seen. Not because of any special architecture or layout, but simply because of where it is situated at - in the foothills of the blue ridge mountains. My favorite part about where I attend is getting to enjoy my favorite season in such a beautiful place. Everyday during the fall semester as I commute to school, I get to enjoy beautiful foliage and mountain views. I'm very grateful that I enjoy my school so much, because even though I don't live there I spend a lot of time on campus. If I'm not in the library studying for one of my classes, you will be able to find me enjoying lunch with my friends, eno-ing in the trees around campus, or participating in club meeting.
When I'm not on campus I will almost always be at home. I've always been a homebody, and as my schedule and workload have picked up this year I've really come to value my time at home. Even though I may not be going out, that certainly does not mean I am any less busy. When I'm at home, I have a wonderful family and we're always doing something together. Especially on the weekends, I will go explore North Georgia with my parents and we'll go hiking. As well, I have two younger brothers who are 18 and 10 years old. Everyday after school I pick up my youngest brother and make sure he gets his homework done and help him out if he ever has any questions over the material. In addition to helping out my little brother, I also help with dinner around my house.
Cooking has always been a passion of mine, even when I was very little. I would always be in the kitchen asking my mom what she needed help with or what I could make myself. From very early on I putting my own dishes on the table. And I was always wanting to try something new! At first, I focused mainly on baking. I was of the mentality of "Homemade Red Velvet cake for my moms birthday? Sounds fun, let's try it! Homemade chocolate icing, I'm down...." But as I've gotten older, I've wanted to try more savory dishes, like panna cotto chicken, stuffed mushroom caps, and grilled asparagus and salmon. Which each new dish I grow to enjoy cooking more and more. Because not only is it rewarding for me to be able to build a dish, but it also makes my family really happy.
When I'm not at home or at school I will probably be with my boyfriend. We've been dating since we were 15 years old, so its been both a unique and wonderful experience to have gotten to "grow up" with my significant other. Even though both of our schedules are very busy with work and school, we do make time to see each other during the week. Even if that just means grabbing a pizza to take back to the house and study together, we still enjoy every minute we get to spend with one another.
Some of the other things I enjoy (when I have the time): Crafting, sewing, traveling, hiking, and kayaking.
